The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has made it easier to print your Proof of Payment by introducing the new PDF format. We’ll show you how to use this nifty tool that makes paying for items with your Absa card more convenient than ever before. We'll start with the basics: How can I use my SARB Proof of Payment? Firstly, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer. You can download it here if not. Once you’ve done so, open the file from your email and click on ‘Print'. You’ll be able to print your POP and show it to the retailer when paying for your goods or services. You can also digitally send it directly to the retailer through email. The retailer will then scan the POP and process your payment. When you buy online, you will receive an attachment of the proof of payment in your e-mail inbox. Follow the simple instructions to display it on your screen when paying for goods or services. What does my SARB POP look like? It looks like this:The format of the POP has been updated to facilitate the reception and simple use by both retailers and consumers. It contains a short instruction, date and time of printing, logo, name (first and last) and serial number (unique number assigned to every transaction). This information will ensure that transactions are acknowledged. Additionally, it provides information regarding the payment method used for each transaction.
